New Orleans Jazz Fest 2013

I have a lot of exciting gigs this year for Jazz Fest with Doombalaya, One Love Brass Brand, and the New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra. Check the calendar to see the full lineup of events! Also, I’ve been working with New Leviathan on a project where we will perform the soundtrack to a silent movie while we show the film. Look out for this exciting event in the fall!

Exciting New Projects

Well, after an eventful year in St. Lucia, I’m back in New Orleans. I’m excited about being home, especially because of some exciting new projects. First of all, I’m going into the studio with Doombalaya an up and coming young funk band in New Orleans. We have some fun original tunes that we’re recording. The full album should be done sometime next year. Also, I joined a new brass band, One Love Brass Band, which fuses traditional New Orleans Brass Band styles with Caribbean music. This is perfect for me since I just spent the last year in the Caribbean and I have lots of great Calypso arrangements for us to play in addition to the Reggae and Ska arrangements by band leader Kyle Cripps. We’ll be going into the studio for a demo in the next month and will start playing gigs in December so keep an eye out! Finally, the New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra is working on the soundtrack to the silent film Beau Gests, which I’ll be conducting. Not sure when we’ll be ready to perform but it’s gonna be an amazing event!

02.08.12 – Exciting News About St. Lucia Jazz Festival

I’ll be playing with Steel Pan Masters Allison Marquis and Andy Narell on May 12, 2012 at the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival.  I’m so excited about this performance because we’ll be playing on the main stage in Pigeon Island and will be playing some great compositions and arrangements by Allison and Andy.  In addition to this peformance, I’ll be leading the St. Lucia School of Music Big Band at Jazz at Seraphine on May 10, and the St. Lucia School of Music Black Antz Jazz Combo on May 6 at Coconut Bay Hotel for Jazz in the South, May 9 at Jazz at Tea Time at Place Carenage, and May 10 at Fire Grill.  I’ll also be performing myself at Jazz at Seraphine on May 10, Fire Grill on May 10, and Jacques on the Waterfront on May 13.  It will be an exciting time in St. Lucia and I can’t wait!!
